Peyote, considered a living god, El Mescalito had a long history of use among the natives of northern Mexico and Southwestern USA – at least 5700 years, say archeologists.
Lophophora williamsii (Peyote) is a native of Mexico and the Southern US which means it loves very dry and sun-drenched growing conditions. Peyote grows best in very mineral soil. A mix of 50% sand, 25% grit or bims and 25% regular potting soil has proven to the best growing medium for these types of special cacti.
Mainly for the collector and connoisseur, our Peyote with Pups is a much rarer form of the illustrious peyote cactus. Originally found in desserts of Mexico, these psychoactive cacti have a historic reputation for their spiritual and religious use.
